What is a Regional Center?

Regional centers of California state-funded, non-profit agencies that are overseen by the California Department of Developmental Services (DDS). Many counties in California have a regional center, with a high concentration in Southern California. The main function of a regional center is to provide services and support to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
